1978 MSA Wiffle Ball

Not to be confused with the 77 issue this one came in 2 formats 5 players to a wiffle ball box 3 on the outside and 2 on the inside.  Plus some were 2 on the cardboard packaging for the bats those are generally come with 2 folds on them.

The balls were issued in Regular, Softball and Junior size one could surmise that less popular sizes of products might lead to some lesser quantities of certain cards. That's why it is important to understand how these cards were distributed.  As of now 12 cards are unknown how distributed most likely 2 boxes and 1 bat still exist.

Here is a 77 vs 78 just to tell them apart the backs are different.

  1. Thank you very much for the article! I have a handful of these from my youth. Some have those double-creases in them and from your picture, I guess they're from the bat/ball combo. For years I've wondered why they had that crease like that.
